I have been prescribed velivet (generic of Ortho-tri), and I am looking for the cost of it without a prescription. Also, it's been a while since I've been on the pill (had IUD before), and I can't remember when do you start the pill pack? Is it after your period? I haven't gotten the prescription filled and I may have my dr rewrite it as the dr wrote it for three packs at a time and I don't know if I can afford it.

One thing you can do is to ask your doctor for samples of the pill you are since money is an issue (and I understand how that can be). As for when you start the pill it may depend on how the pack is set up because some like Lo/Ovral you can only start the pack on a Sunday.

Most doctors will want their patients to start the pill after they have finished their period. This gives the cycle a chance to adjust to being on the medication.

I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to see what else they want you to do.
