Someone who frequents a business or other location frequently. For example, a bartender might say to someone else "That's Jack. He's one of regulars." Meaning Jack comes here a lot.

Someone who goes somewhere or does something on a regular basis. Like someone else said, if a person at a bar is a regular, it means they are one of the patrons who is in the bar on a regular basis.

To be A "regular" rather than just "regular"does mean you are consistent at an activity i.e. going to the same cafe, helping at an event, drinking at a bar.

BEING "regular" often refers to the efficiency of your bowel movement. i.e. you seldom get constipated...

A regular is a t.v. character who is always on a show..and not just on one or two episodes.
