I bought a computer off of the Cyberpower website back in February even after I read all of the terrible reviews about them. It took forever for my computer to finally arrive, but after it did I was fairly happy with it for about two weeks before it started having problems. After having had it for six months, I am thoroughly sick of it and would like to get ALL of my money back (it cost about $2,200), though they don't let you return computers after you've had them for over a month. So I was wondering what kind of things I should say on the phone to try to get them to give me a refund. I wouldn't really want to take legal action seeing as how I'm only fifteen. :)

The only reason I bought it was because at the time I was looking for a computer, a price equivalent Dell would not have even been comparable to the Cyberpower I could get, so I decided to risk it (I did see some good reviews, but there weren't very many). You'd think I would have been smart enough to just go with a Dell since we have seven that all work fine...but I wasn't.

Over the phone is not going to get you your money back. You are going to have to get all your receipts together for having it fixed and then send them copies with your complaints. Send the same information (copies only) to the state's attorney general civil division and send copies to the Better Business Bureau. Mention you are only 15, it actually helps. NO one wants to see someone stick it to a kid. I did this years ago for a car I had painted that was guaranteed not to split, chip or peel. Well, it did all of the above and within 7 days of getting my car back. The guy laughed at me and said what are you going to do your just a kid. I wrote my letters and took pictures and mailed it to the right people. The guy who laughed at me got fired and I got a new paint job. A better one and one that did not split, chip or peel, so hang in there and remember that your age could be your advantage point.

You have made a terrible mistake,
You are out of luck, you are a minor and if you did this right it off as a valuable lesson learned.
You are really no different than hundreds of thousands of others that buy junk from every tom dick and harry that decided to get into the computer buisness, I could name you names, but to what avail
DELL has been the top of the line in Computer manufacture for several years. Why would anyone buy anything else is a mystery to me. Go to there Web site and it will make you sick what you could have had for $2,000
Format it and re-download the Operating SYStem and sell it and get a dell.

Save yourself a lot of headaches. Being sick of your computer is no reason Cyberpower is going to give you your money back. If you are fifteen in most states, you wouldn't be able to sign the purchase agreement anyway, nor in most states will you be able to take legal action without your parents being involved. Just ask them. What do they think of your problem?
I can tell from what you've said that you will never get your money back, so you may as well make up to your computer.

Good luck after six months I don't think that you will get anyone to take it back and give a full refund, something should have been done sooner.
I would have questioned when it took ages to arrive, and possibly canceled my order then and requested a refund.
You bought something after reading bad reviews ?? why ??

Regardless of your age, why would you spend $2200 on a site with poor reviews? You write intelligently.......
If it's breaking, then use your warranty (hopefully you bought a warranty). If not, then you are pretty much stuck, unless you want to let them calmly know that you will be contacting the better business bureau, your local news outlets, and anyone else who will listen to let them know how bad your product was.
If they already have poor reviews, they might not care.

the vast majority of computer problems are cause by users; they don't just happen by themselves.
getting problems after two weeks is a classic indication that the user is not maintaining the operating system properly.
i bet you've been trying to look at porn, right? if i'm wrong, i will buy you a new computer.

What was the matter with it? Those problems might be easier fixed than trying to return it.
