If it is why was it locked in the first place. there must be some regulations against. Still we should be allowed it's owe choice if we want to subscribe to more than one network surely.

its a capital offense and theyll trail u for court..... no its not illegal its perfectely legal. even wal-mart will unlock phones for u and u can suscribe to cingular or t-mobile with an unlocked phone

Of course you can and it is legal! The cell service providers just do it to make sure you stay with them, but why would you want to subscribe to more than one service?

Yes it is legal. Tracfone is still trying to sue though.
