Everyone feels like this their first game.. some have this feeling for every game. Just try not to think about it and just do your best. Because if you put someone on their *** youll feel amazing and get this great pump and then you could be unstoppable

If you are going up against a bigger guy than you, just stay low and try to take them off their feet. Don't ever go up high cuz they can use ur momentum to take you down. I played football all the way from 7th grade to my senior year in high school. So that was the same advice the coaches would give us. Just don't be scared out there, if you feel that someone is gonna knock you on your *** then they probably are. Think positive and always give it your all. Make sure that you pay attention to what u are doing because you might get hurt or one of your teammates might get hurt. Well that's all I can tell you.

First of all, all of your fears are normal. Every player has those before their first game. Next, if you learn the plays, most of your anxiety will disappear. And after you take the field and deliver that first hit, nothing else is going to matter. Take the entire game one play at a time, but learn from what happened on the previous play. During warm ups, focus on calming yourself down, relax, concentrate on what you will do on each play and envision success. Finally, just go have fun, you're only in 8th grade, now's the time for you to make mistakes so by the time you get to high school, you won't make them any more.
