I've just been offered the lead role for a Bollywood style independent film that will start filming in April. The movie will be similar to the film Bride and Prejudice.

The issue however is that salary compensation has not yet been discussed. The budget for the film is about 3 million, however my experience is limited and this is my first film. I'm not expecting millions, but at the same time I dont want to do the project for free. I basically just need a rough range to give me an idea of what I should expect to be paid.

I am sure you will get paid. All actors will start somewhere and might get 10,000 or 20,000. I am trying to think of how much Daniel Radcliffe got for his first movie but I am not sure.

Good luck with the film.

Got to be careful.. If you have been offerred the lead without a salary attached, maybe they think they can get you for nada.
So--for the lead, I would go about 5-10% of budget. I'm just guessing. That is why there is a Screen Actors Guild.
