full time student is considered as 12-18 credits.
I have 5 classes for a total of 17 credits, so I am assuming you will be just fine.

12-18 semester hours per semester is a typical undergraduate full-time load.
It's not about the number of classes, it's about the number of semester hours.
Each class has a different number of hours based on how many hours it meets per week.
Most classes are 3 hours. That's the normal. But some are 1 and some are 6 and I took some required classes in my BA that were 0.
So, someone who has a full time load of 1 and 2 hour classes might be taking 10 classes per semester while someone with some heavy science and math courses at 5 each would take 3 to get the same amount of credit.
Almost universally though -- taking 4-5 classes will land you 12-18 semester hours.
To finish a degree "on-time" (associates in 2-years and bachelor's in 4-years) you need to average out at about 15 semester hours per year. 5 three-hour classes every semester.
Our peers who do 12 hours all the time are said to be "on the five-year plan" and those who never want to leave.... we're professional students.

Full time students take 12 or more credits, but you need special permission to take 18 or more credits in general. Most classes are 3 or 4 credits, so taking 4 or 5 would be perfect for full time.
