I have felt for over a month now that our baby seems to move and kick a lot down by my pelvic bone. It seems like she moves a lot in that area. We are going to be 33 wks tomorrow (sat). I don't remember feeling this when i was pregnant with my son. I never went into labor with him though. I am hoping this might be a sign that our baby girl is going to actually drop like she is supposed to and i will go into labor this time. With my son i had to have a c-section, we are aiming for a VBAC this time. I know the best person to ask is our doctor, but i am curious if anyone else is or has experienced this. She moves all over, but it seems like most of her movement is down low.

jencaniglio-i would love to e-mail you about VBAC but it says you don't allow e-mails. It sounds like we have some similar interests too. :0)

This is mainly caused by the way baby is positioned. Are you less active now than you were during your first pregnancy? The biggest reason why mothers feel more movement when they are at rest is because the mother has stopped her movement and she's not rocking the baby around anymore. Baby's not being rocked to sleep? Baby's awake and active! It's such a beautiful thing!! The movement down low may just be her most comfortable position, it is nothing to worry about. I wish you the best of luck with baby and I pray you get a quick labor with no complications. Congratulations on your sweet little Blessing!

I don't remember that happening any time close to being in labor. I would think since you still have 7 weeks to go that she may not be in position yet. And it seems to me like if you're feeling a lot of movement there that she's probably kicking and moving arms, you won't feel that much movement once the head is in place, I don't think.

yes this is my second pregnancy also, this one is a boy we've already had our daughter, she's the greatest!
anyway most of his movement seems to be down in the pelvic area, which is what i felt alot with my daughter who was born vaginally also, we'er delivering vaginally for this one too. i'm 31 weeks along 32 in just a few days and my last ultra sound said he was in a breech position, but my midwife said he's been moving around alot, and could flip back and forth several times!
good luck!

at 33 weeks she should be in delivery position, but some babies keep moving around until delivery!! At the next apt see if the dr can tell if she is head down. Good luck on the vbac, stand your ground and you will get it done!!!

You probably feel her lower because your round ligaments are looser this time around so really she is kicking you lower. Also have your doctor check her position, it may be that her position is why you feel different. All babies and pregnancies are different, I am not surprised you feel different this time. Oh and if you have any quest on VBAC drop me an email.

yep. at around 34 weeks i noticed more movement down below - i even felt it in what felt like the insides of my thighs sometimes! i was sent for an ultrasound at 36 wks to check weight and her head WAS down, but she also had her feet curled up down there around her head, so it's possible both to have the child in the dropped position, head down, and feel kicking.

I have had all three of my sons naturally meaning no C-section. :) It is perfectly normal to feel the baby moving that low..and trust me later on it will even become painful at times, but I'm sure everything will be fine if you are truelly concerned its always best to ask your doctor.

my teacher had the same problem, usually when she skipped a meal (breakfast for example) the baby would kick on her pelvic bone to tell her that she skipped something, that might be the case, because you know baby's have minds to
