I began a new employment almost 5 months ago. I had an young immature, super stubborn, cocky programmer who lacked the basics and didn't do things in a proper manner. When I talked to a "lead" guy about it, he didn't care and didn't want to get involved. The "lead" guy pretty much didn't care, and all he wanted to do was hide behind his monitor and be left alone.

So, in trying to do the what's right, I got stabbed by these incompetent guys.

Does anyone have similar experience in trying to do really what's right and got blamed for it?

I was a branch manager and did what was right. I did more in 1 year than my counter part did in 10 years. I was noticed, told how well I was doing, Received great KUDOS and I thought all was going GREAT with the exception of being 5-10 min late a few times a MONTH, and my supervisors at times acting like FOOLS,,,,Well I was demoted this week back to a supervisor. Why? I am really not sure. I was never on probation, no written warnings. No signs this was taking place and oh what a shock to me!

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CLUE when my counter part who was ALWAYS attempting to do me in, was on his high horse running around the office on cloud nine, now I did notice it but sure BUT, NEVER thought that it was due to my demotion and him regaining FULL POWER of the branch again.

He won, and my boss was tired of him COMPLAINING EVERY DAY about me. It was one thing or another and he went so far as to LIE many times too. I was always defending myself...
YET MY RESULTS WE GREAT AND I WAS TOLD THIS WEEK THEY COULD NOT ASK FOR BETTER RESULTS...
SO WHY? I DID THE RIGHT THING!!!!

Yes.
My experience has been if the leads and management don't care enough to change things I have one of two options. One, go with the flow and ignore everybody. Or two, find another job (that's what I did).
