Technically, we live in IL, but my husband is a FL resident. He is registered to vote in FL. He just renewed his FL DL and it has our current IL address, but it says he's a FL resident. I already purchased a Disney package, but I wanted to know--could he have bought Disney tickets (Magic Your Way tickets)---for the whole family--or just him? I called Disney, and may have gotten confused, but he said we would have to prove where my children resided...which seemed a little absurd for Disney to ask for such info on a 3 yr old. Do they ask for ID for every family member? We have 3 kids, was wondering how that would work....last time I was at WDW, I did not have kids, I was a FL resident and I bought my ticket at the gate.

I want to call back and see how my package changes, with the FL resident thing...but I want to be armed with more info from other people. Thanks for the hotel tip.

Your children would not need to show proof of residency in Florida. However, each adult would be required to show proof that they are Florida residents (I will include a link of the different forms of proof that is allowed) I know that you are allowed to use either a drivers license or a state ID, but I'm not sure what the case would be with an address in Illinois, I know the State ID has to have your address on it, but I don't believe the drivers license does. Since his license actually shows an Illinois address, you may have some difficulty with the tickets. Disney will often give different answers to the same questions and then you are left to sort them out to try and decide which one is right. It will probably take several calls before you can actually get the same answer more than once.

Disney doesn't offer any specials for packages for Florida residents. You can do everything seperately, but the packages are not included. They do offer room only discounts, but they are offering less and less each year, leaning more towards specials on packages... While there may be some difference in price between them, it is usually quite little. With your situation it may be a lot easier to keep the package and wait for a promotion to come out for your dates, this way you know you have the special. Otherwise you may have problems with his ID and things not counting or something and then have to pay full price.

I've included a few links for you to check out with more info. At Disney's website you will need to put in a Florida zip code (i.e. 32801) in order to view the page.

Hope this helps!

Your screwed. I really hope that you can get out of the deal and return the ticket. Disney is very strict with thier tickets. Dont think they havent seen every trick in the book either. First if they are tickets designated for a florida resident then you definitly will need a florida ID card to use them. Second, if the tickets where already used once they do a fingerprint scan that links to that card. So nobody but the orginal owner and use that card. I have personal experience with this when I thought I would give my friend a ticket of mine that had one more day on it after I got my own pass to get in and didnt need that day. We tried to get in animal kingdom and no luck. We were turned away at the turnstile. The manger pointed out it says directly on the ticket that its non transferable. If you are going to go to disney buy from the source or at least some place like AAA.

If your husband is buying the tickets, they will need to see his FL license at the ticket counter. Disney is famous for not giving you a straight answer or getting conflicting info.

Did you ask about Florida resident rates for you package? They do have special hotel rates for FL residents.

When I purchased Disney tickets online last year, I had to show one valid FL ID for EACH ticket purchased. 2 tickets, 2 FL IDs...etc.

Florida Resident tickets require ID's for all adults. But the kids are on the honor system.

He can purchase the discounted tix for him & kids. Yours would be at regular cost.

Disney does it all the time, they know how to handle it - they just don't like to give more discounts than they have to . . . .
