I believe in talking to your boss first of all, then if he does not resolve it, take the matter to your local labor board, and then QUIT that job.

this happens to a lot of small businesses, even some it doesn't happen to its only due to a last minute loan or just good timing. Now your boss is most likely going to be embarrassed and defensive but if you trust the business and have the poise this would be a great time to earn extra points and job security. By empathizing with him, going back to work and not making a big deal about it, telling him to get it to you as soon as possible and that "everybody has tough times and running a business isn't easy". Ive watched a client's employee do that once and i was really impressed. Dont let it happen a lot though, and dont wait a whole pay period to get compinsated - just handle the situation

How long have you worked for him? There could be two reasons for this....either he is really bad with his money/kiting or maybe it was a complete accident ( ie-bank taking money out inadvertently or an honest mistake on his part) causing the check to bounce. Have you talked to your employer about it? Did you know that you can take that check along with your driver's license to his bank and cash it there.......as long as the funds are available. You could tell him what happened and he/she will hopefully give you cash for it. If he writes you another check and it happens again......start looking for another job and hold on to the check and keep checking his account so you can cash it. If you still don't get your money back then you can take it to the JP's office and they will tell you what you need to do. Also make a copy of that check front and back for your records and whatever you do, don't let him get that check back unless he replaces it with cash or another check.

being a former pizza place owner, i'll suggest you talk to your boss. do be irate it doesn't help the situation. i'm sure that he's embarrased about it himself.

if it's a relatively new business, he may be having a hard time getting started. there's a lot of start up cost when opening a new business.

was there any major machinery malfunctions that had to be fixed or the place couldn't run? this may have to be paid for, or there wouldn't be any work for you to have a job.

There's a lot of reasons that this could happen.

i had me place for 10 years, and there times that i had a hard time meeting payroll, but it always worked out in the end. it took me a while to get started because i opened on a shoestring budget. but with good help i was able to make the place very successful and sold it to one of my first employees so i could go back to school to become a chocolatier.

talk to you boss. ask him to be straight up with you. ask if he can cash it there or what the situation is. just be fair and give them the benifit of the doubt.

of course if this becomes a reoccuring problem... then i suggest you start finding another line of work.

Your appropriate wager is to connect a 'Union'. detect a union that appropriate fits your style of paintings, commerce or retail and so on. The union will take the issue further themselve, saving you the hassel. it may additionally provide you peice of techniques as they 9/10 cases win the case! i'm a development surveyor and pay £6.ninety 9 a month for my commerce union! is properly worth each and every penny! My boss treats me with little appreciate as i'm in trouble-free terms 22 yet i replaced into doing extra jobs then our final surveyor who replaced into fifty six, yet i've got been given paid alot much less??? I advised this to my union (alongside with different information) and that they sat in with me on my next apraisel, now my pay upward push rocketed as much as 24k from 18k. they are going to preserve something, no longer in trouble-free terms pay circumstances! yet whilst the cheque is bouncing and then the business enterprise would desire to be going under, connect a union and you are able to desire to finally finally end up with a greater settlement while you're made redundant!!!! they understand each and every of the advantageous information and communicate it extra then we do, so enable them to do it!!

Hi bri...I mean Johnny Reb!

It did happen to me once. I went to my boss's house at 7pm, after the bank wouldn't cash my check for insufficient funds.

I tied him to a chair with duck tape. his kids were whining, so I hit them with a frying pan to shut them up.

I then took his wallet and watch, covered his face with a plastic bag and went to the crack spot to sell his stuff.

I got $200.00 for the watch, and there was $5.00 in his wallet.

I used his credit cards to pay for my male escort that night... ooooh what a night that turned out to be!

turns out that he is a male escort on the side. we laughed about it, then we smoked some crack.

He bounces my check once in a while now, but it's all in good fun...

hope this helps! :-)

Ouch! This is a sign of financial instability in a company that doesn't bode well. While trying to get your money, I would seriously start looking for a new job.

No, but I would be on the phone with my boss immediately and I would expect this to be handled properly.

Go to your state labor board .
If there is any $$$ left in their accounts ,
The labor board should be able to get you paid .

Sorry about that and good luck . . .
