It's very unlikely. For one thing, baby is still down by your pubic bone. Secondly, he's surrounded by amniotic fluid, so while it may have splashed him about a bit, it would take a really bad injury to hurt him. There's only one way I can think of, would be if you were really hurt yourself, and your body decided you could not heal with a baby, spontaneous abortion may occur. I don't think so.

Doubtful. I mean, you would seriously have to have been hit by a mac truck. Your uterus is very protected, and the baby is so small at this point...
I will say this, at five weeks if the fetus got injured it would die. It wouldn't be able to survive a permanent injury. And the risk of brain damage is so low I really wouldn't worry about it. My 75 pound Golden Retriever ran into my belly at full speed when I was first pregnant (slippery floors!) and I was told there's just no way that would harm the fetus.

Chances are that since you are not noticing any pains or signs of a problem you are ok. However, without a doctor seeing you then you cannot be sure. If you are not too concerned make an appointment with your OBGYN asap Monday. Make sure you tell the staff why you are calling and to get you in ASAP. If you are very concerned then call their after hours number or go to your local emergency room. The doctors there will be able to examine you and give you some peace of mind if you cannot wait through the weekend.

At 5 weeks, the embryo pretty much resembles something of a yolk...it's not really anything right now. No trauma at this point can do any real damage, beause all of the vital organs, including the brain, are not even developed yet. No worries, love!!! Your baby should be just fine! Please be careful, though...you have precious cargo!

depends on the severity of the injury, but most of the time a 5 week embryo will be well insulated by the pelvis, maternal fat, amniotic fluid ect. Call you dr and get a scan just to feel safe. Good luck

The biggest problem for you is how you got that abdominal injury. Talk to your obstetrician about it.

The baby is well protected at this point because it is so far down in your pelvis. Relax!
