You should start by looking through the information on the following website. It is the actors union representing performers in the UK (it is different that The Actors Equity Association in the States):

im close to the same age and i'm very interesting in acting ever since i was in a movie series (i played an extra, but it was still pretty cool!) called "The Englishman's Boy." i wanted to get involved sooo much more, but the director said that i should get into acting school (im in drama class too and that's another good way to start)because directors and script writers go to there to look for actors and actresses. Never mind about getting an agent, all they do is look for acting jobs for you, call the set (only to say for them to leave a message for your agent), the set calls ur agent, agent calls you to see if you want to do it, you say yes or no, then they call back to the set, and the head director gets ur message! and u pay an agent more than what you make to do that! its a terrible way to get started and it's probably better to go to school and acting school, that way you have the time and expierence when you graduate (then after school, when u look for a career or more acting jobs, you can put that on ur resume and will imcrease ur chances) i hope this helped and email me if you need anymore help or have questions!

Finish the drama classes then look for the agent. They are a picky lot and most don't want students until they are finished school. An agent will find you work but you need to find one you are comfortable with and who deals in those genres you want to work in. Have you even come to a conclusion about that yet?

hey DO NOT LISTEN to any of the other ppl. You can get an agenecy to represent you. I was represented at age 8! I love where I stand in my carrer. You take Drama, Awesome Put all of the projects you do on stage in your resume all of that helps. Get some training, go to workshops. TRUST ME, YOU WILL BE ON YOUR WAY.
Remember: You will get lots of "NO'S" BEFORE YOUR FIRST "YES"

Well, if you think that you are truely ready and good, go to a phone book and look up the name of an agent near you. Remember you are most likely going to have to pay.

If you really want to pursue this professionally, you should definitely get an agent.

Surf around the 'net and look for an agency that seems professional and trustworthy. BE VERY CAREFUL not to get scammed.

Good luck! Remember us when you're famous! =)
