"Crackdown on Illegal Workers Appears Eminent." Today the Bush administration unveiled new work place regulations. Chertoff went out there, and the Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, had a press conference on border security and immigration administrative reforms. This is a huge crackdown and it's being focused on the employers. Of course, we talked about it all week. The employers are a little upset about this. "Food prices are going to go up, and that price will go up, and this price will go up." And that is what they always say to us. But do you know what's interesting about this to me? Go back into mid-June, not that long ago, mid-June, and in the dark of night, behind closed doors, a group of Republican and Democrat senators accompanied by representatives of the group La Raza crafted the Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Act of 2007, called comprehensive immigration reform and control, whatever. They hoped to ram that bill through with no amendments. They hoped to ram it through with no hearings. McCain said we have to take the usual politics out of this, meaning debate. They were doing everything they could to sneak that bill by us. We all know what happened. It bombed. It went down in flames. Their attempt to sneak this thing by us blew up right in their faces. Republicans and Democrats alike.

Now all of a sudden we are getting serious on border security. We're getting serious on cracking down on the illegals, where they work. This is a 180, a 180, folks, from where our political leaders were back in June and July. Remember, they wanted to get it done before the July 4th recess. This may be bigger than 180. Back then they wanted to ram it through, and they heard you. What else can explain from the administration on down? Getting tough, cracking down. This appears to have some real substance to it. I'll tell you what it is, and it's actually something that you should feel pretty good about. It's election season. They knew they were trying to ram something down our throats that we had no stomach for and no desire for. If they could have, they would have; they tried it. It didn't work. They heard you, and now look what's happening going into the election, now that it's time to get your votes. Not just presidential, but the Senate and House elections too. Those are just over a year away now. They know.

When they want your votes they will listen to you. When they want your votes they'll do what they think it is you want done. But that time expires shortly after elections. That's why they have to be kept honest. But I think they got the message on this. I remember after the election or after the bill went down, the initial reaction of all these people was: "You're going to rue this day. You're going to rue this day. This is the biggest mistake." Now look it. If what they wanted to do was so great and so important and so good for the country, why have they caved on something that important to them? Why did they cave?

Um, talk radio did what now? This sounds a lot like Rush Limbaugh saying "I told you so", but doesn't really describe any sort of action at all.

The liberals haven't ben in powr.

So here's a reality check for the neocons:

>Neocons controlled Congress for 12 years while the immigration problem grew to enormous size.
They did NOTHING about it.
>When Bush proposed a conservative immigration reform, the right-wing blocked it--not the liberals.
>In 2009 there will be a immigration reform bill. It will be far more liberal--and it will pass Congress.

The right-wing is going to have a fit. Tough. They had years to address this issue and chose not to.

I have to agree, Conservative talk radio did much to stop the legalization of criminal immigrants. The Republicans and Democrats on a whole didn't move much to stop it until the people went to them. The Liberals and the Conservatives really let down the American Taxpayer on this....HOWEVER...move onto today, right now...what are they doing to pick these people up off our streets...I'll tell you NOTHING. What are they doing to reinforce our borders...NOTHING. If you were a Terrorist and you wanted into the USA, just go to Mexico, go to Juarez, and walk across the Bridge into El Paso...welcome to America. Now, here in MA. we have the two top Democrats, Kerry and Kennedy who are assisting ILLEGALS to stay here, they will not allow the state Police to pick them up, and they will not assist INS in holding these people.......these people who rape our systems of $$$$$$ they never put in, nor intend to put in. The illegals never intended to become citizens, then they would have to pay tax, they love their current status, as it doesn't cost them a thing, and costs us everything....

I've been saying all along that they need to crack down on the employers. I always hear people talk about "illegal aliens", maybe now they'll start talking about "illegal employers". It's just as illegal to hire an illegal as it is to be in this country illegally. If we really start prosecuting the employers and they stop hiring, there will be a lot less illegals coming into this country. Supply and demand.

If unlawful immigration is a criminal offense then i think we are ALL responsible. I wager the interior reach American Indians wish that they had the comparable criminal rights to kick all human beings white immigrants off of their land while they arrived ILLEGALLY over 3 hundred years in the past. purely be happy the Hispanics are not coming over our border with an collected military of over 10,000 combating adult males waiting to rape and pillage each city they arrive for the era of with the intention to declare the recent international for themselves. unlawful immigration is a farce. anybody, whether unlawful or no longer deserve the yank way of existence that we voters have been blessed with. have you ever seen the pink tape and paperwork it takes to wade by way of just to be conscious for US citizenship? in case you think of the IRS is undesirable, wait till you spot the INS. i'm prepared with regard to the amnesty bill. in case you do no longer like it, circulate returned to the rustic that your ancestors got here from.

Do you realize that conservative radio only preaches to the choir
If you only see things one way then, doesn't that make you ignorant?
