You wouldn't just tickle ANY friend and you certainly would not tickle a complete stranger. I don't know what your thoughts are on tickling, but I consider it to be a special, as well as playful experience because it involves physical-touch with another person. That can involve a lot of trust for some people.
Is it okay to tickle your closest friends?

No offence taken. I'm only sorry you see it that way. To me, it just seems like a natural part of being human.

I feel truly sorry for all those who think that something as fun, playful, harmless & natural as tickling is something to be ashamed of, because I'm certainly not. You've obviously had bad experiences with tickling. Either that, or you've never experienced the joy of physical-contact.

ROBBIE, GIGGLEDUDE. I love your answers! You're both right. I have friends who love to tickle me & be tickled back & we're all happy because we know we're only having fun & not trying to hurt each other. I guess I only asked my question to see what people's responses would be. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Tickling can be pretty much anywhere on the lot. Compatibility between the friends involved is probably the most important aspect of whether tickling can be integrated successfully into the friendship. For some people, sadly, it is a hot button issue best avoided, or they absolutely hate being tickled so much there would be no point to it. More positively, though, some people are quite comfortable with lots of physical contact between friends and will enjoy it on a simple level; some friendships can incorporate it as a sort of toughness challenge; there are also friendships that have a romantic element to them (where the balance might be most delicate and tricky to maintain). It's probably mainly a question of both friends being on the same page.

Most of my friends do not know about my love of tickling and I would never try to force it on anybody.
I have had tickling encounters (primarily with women but occasionally with guys) and the tickling encounters have always been based on trust, respect and a desire to keep it fun for both parties.
I have on male friend in high school who HATED to be tickled but he loved my playful tickle encounters because I never exceeded his limits and I kept it fun for him.
I have also had several wonderful playful tickling encounters with women and I am fortunate that they have all enjoyed it and many have had repeat encounters with me. Unfortunately, most of them live between 500 - 3000 miles away so I do not see them very often.
The bottom line is that tickling should always be consensual, whether it is with a friend, your closest friend or your significant other.

You should ONLY tickle people you know fairly well and STOP if they tell you to. To some people, it's actually like torture! Also, many child-molesters START with tickling, so if the person had this done to them when young, you're bringing up bad memories.
If they're okay with it, and it's part of fooling around or flirting, then yes, it's okay, but like any other contact, DON'T do it if someone tells you not to!

That depends if they are game. I have a friend who loves her feet and legs "tickled" even though I am only rubbing and scratching them. She calls it tickling. Her husband does not mind that I do. And that is the important thing. I don't think he likes feet. I have never got to tickle her with nylons on, but am hoping the moment presents itself someday.Of course I am assuming that your friend is of the opposite sex, because I have never tickled a man.

It is completely okay. I love tickling my friends all the time. I just come up behind them and poke their butt or belly button and they just giggle. They also come up to me a lot and tickle my feet till I pee

It really depends on the person. Some of my friends of the opposite gender wouldn't mind, while others do not want much physical contact. I would suggest you not do it unless you really know the person and if they'll like or hate it. If you know it wouldn't bother them, then go for it. Otherwise, I suggest you not touch them lol. But I don't see a problem with it.
