As a teacher and relatively low-paid worker, I got a break on my taxes.

I saw a war my family has been expecting for decades come to pass rather than the continued march of conquest Islam has gotten away with so far (my family having escaped Islam in the 1950s).

I've seen a President stand firm instead of caving to polls.

I've seen "No Child Left Behind," hated by many teachers and administrators, successfully force them to raise standards and education for our children.

I've seen someone finally end the cease-fire with Saddam and see him executed for trying to assassinate our President, nationalize our business interests in Kuwait and attack that ally, pay suicide bombers to kill civilians in Israel (publicly, on T.V.), etc., and actually see Saddam executed, winning the war for Iraq.

Now we see active (not passive, "we'll get you, someday") pursuit of those who attack our troops, our buildings, our people in the War of Terror while still preventing all attacks (so far) here at home).

I'd say that all merits something.
