We have a Coleman Evcon furnace the problem is it cools good in the early morning and late night but in the afternoon when it's the hottest it blows out warm air. What could be wrong?

the most likely problem is that the unit is just not big enough for your home or whoever installed it mismatched the a-coil to the condensing unit or has the wrong orfice in it... considering that it cools good except for the hottest part of the day.....My son has a 3 ton coleman central air on a evcon electric furnace in his mobile home and has never had any problems out of it...I sold and serviced coleman units for 20 years and had less problems out of coleman units than any other units out there...coleman is made by York and in my opinion they are a very good quality unit...

Coleman units are the bottom of the list of units to have/buy. It is probably doing the best it can.

What you can do is change the filter, inspect and clean the indoor coil if needed, and clean the outdoor coil with a gentle spray from the hose. 10 minute wash with a hose is good. After you've cleaned the unit, measure the air temperature returning to the indoor unit, and the air temperature leaving. If you have less than a 16 degree difference, the system has a problem that needs to be addressed by a certified technician. If the system has 17 to 22 degree drop, it is doing the most it can, and is undersized for the application. If there is a greater than 22 degree drop, you have an airflow problem.

Possibly it's sitting directly in the sun at that time and the whole thing is hot.

maybe it needs to be "recharged" with freon.
