It seems "mayor" Nagin thinks the insanely high murder rate in N'Orleans isn't so bad after all! It draws attention to N'Orleans! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!!!
This is the same putz that refused to follow the LAW and the City Charter which states very clearly that the mayor is to use ALL means public and private to evacuate the city in the even of an emergency. We know the reality and thousands of school busses sat flooded in lots while thousands of N'Orleans residents stayed home and cried waiting for big mama gubmint to rescue them!!! Then they blamed the feds and the prez for their idiocy!!!

Nagin, whose city has recorded at least 117 murders this year, told WVUE-TV it's a "two-edged sword."
"It's not good for us, but it also keeps the New Orleans brand out there, and it keeps people thinking about our needs and what we need to bring this community back. So it is kind of a two-edged sword," he said, according to a station transcript. "Sure it hurts, but we have to keep working everyday to make the city better."

Libs, Libs, Libs.... those wonderful, compassionate "color blind" people who always talk about treating everyone equally, and how we're all the same. I guess Mayor Nagin doesn't qualify as a true Liberal because he called for New Orleans to be rebuilt as a "chocolate city", and even included god's will as one of the reasons for making New Orleans predominantly black.
Don't these people realize what buffoons they are?
Now, if you want the ultimate in twisted, Liberal "thinking", you have to read a question I answered. Another respondant, a Liberal, actually cited Reagan's steadfast refusal to give into the Soviets as the reason the Cold War ended. But......... he gives the credit to Gorbachev! That's like if the Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Hornets, but the Chicago fans give the credit to the Hornets for not playing as well as the Bulls! It's absolutely nutty.
I recently responded to a question where one Lib wrote this about Ronald Reagan:
"He kept the Cold War going and preserved the Us vs. Them mentality that is even stronger today. I am sure the Cold War would still be going if Gorbachev had not thrown in the towel."
Instead of praising Reagan for standing tough with the Russians and forcing them to concede defeat in the Cold War, dismantle their empire, and set free their satellite countries in Eastern Europe, he praises Gorbachev for being out-maneuvered by Reagan.
"l33tnimda", admits that Reagan's efforts ended the Cold War, but gives the credit to Gorbachev. Absolutely astounding!! Reagan out-negotiated the befuddled Russian leader, but this guy gives credit to the loser.
So, let's give this guy the first prize for Liberal "thinking". Even Nagin can't match this fuzzy logic.
