I have taken all the pipes apart from under the sink and they are clean and it still has a very slow drain. I have put chemicals down the sink and nothing is working! The plumber is asking for $300, so the idea of doing it myself is sounding real good! By the way, nothing else is backing up in the house except the plumbing around the kitchen sink. Help!!!!!

I agree with the other answers. You do need to get a snake. You can rent power snakes from home improvement stores like Home Depot. Also go down in the basement or the crawl space and take a look at the piping. You may have a clean out port. You would have to unscrew the cap and then you should have a striaght shot and cleaning out the pipe.

Good luck, and if all else fails, call a plumber.

kitchen sinks are related to a minimum of one yet another below the sink so which you may desire to fill one sink approximately 0.5 finished and the different you may desire to get a sprint water interior the sink and carry a good plug interior the drain as you plunge the different ingredient. in simple terms push the plunger down slowly till this is thoroughly tight then provide it some speedy jerks to loosen the clog. do no longer attempt to push the clog with the plunger as this would reason it to clog worse. via sucking the clog backward up the pipe it loosens up the debris after which the water forces back off to bathe the clog away. Chemical drano products do no longer remedy the priority, drano would disolve many of the clog and it ought to artwork greater useful for a jiffy in basic terms to be worse the subsequent time. Plunging is the main effective and price effective thank you to remedy the priority, a plumber would use an auger to unfastened the clog and this would remedy the priority for specific, however the plumber's provider call must be high priced. Do it your self.

The clog is farther down the line. You will need a plumber's snake and it may be worth it to pay the plumber to do it. If you have plastic pipes you can make holes in them if you are not careful with the snake.

Some houses have a grease trap just outside the kitchen you might want to check that too. If all else fails call a plumber.

Frosty:
is correct; usually you have to use a power plumbers snake. If it is done incorrectly, it will cost much more than $300.

I would call roto rooter. This is what they do. They cleaned my clog that was at least 100 feet from my sink drain and only charged 150 bucks.

Check them out at http://rotorooter.com/

Good Luck!
