My parents have a constent watch over me. they always know what I'm doing, when i'm doing, and how i'm doing something. they both have strong opinions about the outside world and its "Bad Influences". It's soo bad, that i'm home-schooled, am not allowed 2 have ne friends, and I can't leave the house unless there r with me. ( they work from 9 to 9, mon- fri ) so during alll that time I am stuck in my house.... I have never done ANYTHING that may have caused this behavior, b/c i've been on a tight leash since I was born.

My brother however gets 2 do nething he wants, w/o the restrictions that I recieve. he doesn't have chores.....he's just spoiled!

I however have 2 do all the house work and all the chores...while they do nothing.

so i was wondering, what would cause them 2 treat me so? do they not like me? is it a gender issue ( i'm female )?

Can someone please help me come 2 a conclusion, on the ludacris behavior!!!
Am I wrong 2 feel that there is something wrong with this?

Hi, I noticed you are a college student studying psychology, good for you. I am assuming you are around 17-18 yrs. You are definitely on a tight leach and your parents are paying your tuition which makes it hard for you to leave. You are not wrong in feeling the way you do, kids your age should be out having fun with friends. Make the best of what yrs. you have left living in your parents home, then run, run, run. kd. hang in there, time really does fly. GL and smile. =) you have a friend in me.. ;)

Depends on how old you are...but at some point parents have to start allowing for their kids to prove that they are trust worthy. I can't half blame them to worry about you and the outside world. Us girls are considered prey by many...but at the same time you need to learn good from bad.
Now that I'm a parent, it'll be the single hardest thing that I've ever had to do, as all I want is for my child to be safe and happy.

I think it is based on your sex. Alot of parents feel as if they need to shelter the female.

My boyfriend once said that if he had a son, he would teach him how to pick up chicks, but that if he had a daughter she couldnt date until she was 17.

Go figure.
Im sorry that you are treated this way, Im not sure there is alot that you can do about it. I know it may be along ways away, but when youre 18, they can kiss there restrictions goodbye.

I think there can be 2 explanations on this. Either they favor your brother, or they care about what you do more. Maybe your brother has already gotten into trouble, and they possibly have given up on trying to make him behave. Now their focusing mainly on you. I think they take it to far though, I mean being homeschooled and not being able to go out. Thats harsh.

They don't want you to get pregnant. And this is a gender issue. Tell them that they arecontrolling you and you'll never learn from your mistakes unless they leave you alone. Get rebelious on their @$$e$!

I have never heard anything so bizzarre. even my parents (who the whole neighbor hood thinks are strict) aren't even close to THAT mean. I say get a babysitting job at your neighbors house. Then tell your neighbor your problem and they will get you help.

Good luck with that...

I feel your pain. The only thing I can tell you is to hang in there. Be sure to do well in school, have goals, and save your money so you can move out as soon as possible.

I would say that it is gender discrimination. Is your brother older? Older kids get to do thinks the younger one can't.

I believe your age may have something to do with their decisions.
