The Houston Colt .45s (later Astros) had a clubhouse guy nicknamed "Murph." Anyone know who he is?

I once had the pleasure of dining with the great Rusty Staub who told a humorous story about his early days with the Colts. It featured a character named Murph who Staub simply called a "clubhouse guy." It seems that when the players would grow tired of autographing articles passed to them in the dugout or clubhouse, they'd give them to Murph to sign. After awhile, Murph had mastered all of their signatures! Who the heck is Murph? Any clue?
