post 9/11 is there even a difference between the two parties or is it aimless bickering for the sake of tradition.

There is nothing post 9/11 as the bickering has
been going on for God knows how many years.

Political bigotry is the last bastion of prejudice in our country. It's why I speak up when I see it, even in my own party, and have since the huge increase in it during President Clinton's terms.

There are a lot of patriotic democrats and republicans out there doing the same. We may differ in our goals, but don't see each other as the enemy, and appreciate the fact that there are those willing to pursue goals we aren't interested in (such as war against an enemy that has clearly stated they want to destroy us).

We need brakes and gas, no matter what direction we are headed.
