Yes it is. If I'm late they might have already eaten all the donuts. :(

I actually had to explain this to a hot Brazilian just last night.
It's a cultural thing. Being late after promising to be somewhere at a certain time, is an insult in the American culture, as it demonstrates that the late person doesn't respect the person waiting. In Americans, being late is either a sign of disrespect or a subtle (or not so subtle) challenge to the existing dominance hierarchy.

VERY MUCH, YES! We grew up with a forever late mother. She'd be running around screaming at us to get ready and get in the car. We would, then we'd sit there sweating like little pigs. I being the oldest, after about 30 minutes, would go in to check on her and she'd just be starting to get ready. I'd go get the boys out of the car, wait another 30 minutes and she'd come out and wonder why we weren't in the car already. Drove us crazy! Us kids, as adults now, are never late.

I'm obsessive about many things, but being on time is at the top of the list. I can be on time - on the dot - even if I have to drive 3 hours. I don't know how I do it. It's a skill, a talent. And I am eternally grateful.

Yes, totally. I am always on time and expect the same from other people. To me, being late is a sign of Disrespect (I know **** happens, but if someone is late every time....no way, I don`t stick around for that)

YES! I'm practically obsessed with being on time. I get up very early for whatever appointment I have, and make damn sure I get there at least 15 minutes early. I know it's crazy, but I don't like to be late and keep people waiting.

I think it matters more to them. But I am always on time if I have anything to do with it. It bothers me when people don't care enough not to waste my time so I try to be respectful to them too by being punctual.

Always. Unless there's a good reason that could not be prevented, not being on time means the person doesn't care.

It matters a lot, but it's a big struggle for me to be on time.

Being late tells people that you believe your time is more valuable than theirs, and in most cases, nothing could be farther from the truth.
