I can only answer how I felt, since I was not lucky enough to use a conditional sentence in this case. DU was used in the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999. and rightly caused great concern among everyone involved. I'm trying hard, but I really cannot understand people who turn this into a joke. Where do you get that kind of cyborg insensitivity installed into you? We're talking people's lives here, our global environment and our sense for justice and humanity.
I felt betrayed at the time. At first hurt, angry, then helpless and betrayed. I subjected to scrutiny every aspect of the American set of values, as it once was to me when I was growing up. And I came to despise the hypocrisy I saw in it. From there, I made a turn to indifference - trying to ignore it as much as possible. Absence of feelings is a feeling, too.
I wonder why none of our friends Albanians answered your question....

Unfortunately, I currently live in the country that is the greatest perpetrator of this crime. This was a cause of great pain during the "Balkan conflict"; or, as I like to look at it, Clinton's impeachment obfuscation plan. After all, the US didn't show a care in the world as to what was happening in the Balkans until after that little white stain appeared on Monica Lewinsky's dress.

Plus, it was a cheap way for the states to rid themselves of all that toxic material that was stockpiling. And, of course, their European allies foolishly bought into the lie. Those are the same allies that are feeling the effects of DU as Serbia did, but at a greatly decreased level.

Let's make them a deal. We will stop using any depleted uranium if they stop trying to blow up our soldiers and their own citizens.

Sounds like a good compromise to me. And, it sure beats spreading enriched uranium all over the place.

I call for investigations into Roberts, Alito, Kennedy, Thomas, Scalia, Bush, Cheney, and Diebold. According to the 9th amendment, we have the right to check unconstitutional government. These investigations can be conducted by Mr. Specter, and when he is through, these people can resign themselves from their positions and be replaced by competent women until the next proper election. Then Mr. Specter can punish himself for what he did to Anita Hill in the Clarence Thomas case.
