I like people that don't follow the crowd blindly. That don't jump on a bandwagon because it's considered popular.
Someone that appears for you at a very difficult time, and just reassures you that this will pass. That doesn't write platitudes that don't help at that exact moment, but that gives you a helping hand when everyone else is kicking you down. Just that special hard to describe element that picks you up and puts you back together without asking for anything in return.

Timing and Chemistry. Did you ever meet someone and just get a bad feeling from them, yet others like them? Maybe they remind you of someone that you had a bad experience with. At the same time, you can meet someone and instantly bond with them because you have a similar outlook on life and enjoy the same activities.

Friendly nature, good manners, chatty,feeling like you can genuinely trust them, making you laugh, being able to talk to them about anything really, and them listening to you, that they like you as a person, that they make the effort to ring or chat, that they like to be with you because of the person you are, not because they have no-one else, that they make you feel you are important to them
Probly more, but these are the main points i like in a person.

When dealing with somebody, one has to bear in mind that that somebody is different from them having their own likings and dislikings; having their own viewpoints and beliefs as well as disbeliefs.
When dealing with a child, don't forget that it is a child.
When dealing with a sick person, don't forget that they are sick.
Never forget that you could be polluting the air, the water, the food, the thoughts, the beliefs, the ideas, the likings OF OTHERS.
When dealing with somebody, imagine yourself that you are that SOMEBODY.
Life is 'give and take'
With no compromises life would come to a stop.
To cut it short one has to 'understanding, considerate and forgiving'.

I think people who are positive and upbeat are usually likeable. Who wants to be around someone who is a downer all the time ?

People who are smiling and are always in an upbeat mood. I don't care what the heck happens during their day they are always POSITIVE! I need to be more like this.

and still some an all around personality, that is steady and personable, and appealing to most but not all
