Most agencies don't have mailrooms. Since everyone wants an exciting glamorous job the lower level people are frequently unpaid interns. Or they make very little. You've asked a lot of questions of this type. You've been told the reality. Becoming an agent is hard. Once you become one the work is hard. The income is NOWHERE near what you think it is. That's the bottom line.

It depends on the size of the agency. Some agencies are very large and have hundreds of employees, there are small agencies with only 3 or 4 employees.
