Been to Argentina 7 times, and two of them I stayed a month as I went to work there. Buenos Aires is amazing and can be hectic at some times. However, there is a rich cultural level there, I went to the theatre a lot of times to see productions such as Chicago, opera, etc. The food is great, the people are fine although the porteño (people from BA) have this stereotyped aura of being arrogant which I found to be untrue. People who worked with me were friendly, professional, nice and simple. However, what I liked the most was the fact that the public system was well organised and I went everywhere in the inner city train. Patagonia is also amazing, as well as Mendoza and Corboda. What I didnt like in BA is this insane obsession to be thin and gorgeous, men included. In the past yeras I've seen women and men getting thinner and thinner, more obsessed with designer brands and getting a lot of sun tan without thinking about the consequences. Nevertheless, the city is amazing and I love it, there is a european air which reminds you of places like Prague and the people respect you and let you live however you want to so go ahead and visit BA, it's worth it.

Been in BA couple of weeks in July. Like the city because of the diversity. Has beautiful old buildings, a subte (underground) dating from 1913! But also lots of more modern buildings. San Telmo market on sunday, with antiques and 'modern antiques' and performers (tango dancers, living statues, passionate singers and musicians). Free tour through Congresso (Argentinas parliment building). Parks to stroll around. There are still some mothers of the lost generation present every thursday afternoon on the square 25 Mayo. Buenos Aires is a very lively city with demonstrations almost every day. Some big, some have more policemen than demonstrators. There is a 20 lane road in the middle of BA!
