Our cable system made that switch a while ago, at least in most cases.

Here's a partial explanation. Some cable subscribers have a very basic lineup that only goes 2-13. Many local stations are on the UHF band, which goes 14-83. In order to get the local stations to local people, they have to go on 2-13. So in my case, channel 51 is on 11.

But, there is no reason not to put channel 4 on cable channel 4. A note to the cable company wouldn't hurt.

I bet some TV stations that get the broadcast are limited on what station numbers they can have??? Just a guess.

the locals where l live are on their channels, just lucky for me.
