I had this problem once. I quietly went "on strike". I stopped doing dishes, laundry, cleaning. We had a newborn and a toddler, and the house was a total disaster after 24 hours! It lasted about 4 days. I called him from work one day and asked what we were doing that night, and he replied "cleaning this house!" By the time I got home he had about half of it done. Anytime he relapsed I just stopped again, and it didn't take long until he started helping.

Sit down with him and discuss the "division of labor" around the house. Ask him what he thinks his responsibilities should include. My husband doesn't help me with cooking, dusting, dishes, laundry and grocery shopping, and I don't help him with yardwork, fixing things, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, home theater, computers (that's in addition to him working 15 hours a day). I think I've got a sweet end of the deal. Take a closer look at what your husband does already; perhaps he can be spared of washing the dishes if he takes over some of the more "manly" tasks.

I dont know i have tried ....i talk to him , plead, cry, and nothing !!! the only thing that i do is get allllllll his stuff put it in a bag and when he askes for something i tell him to check his bags! which sucks cuz i put everything from q-tips, socks, food wrappers, clothes everything and the ONLY clothes i wash is the one in the hampers all the clothes, socks lying around i put those in his bags too so when he tell me he needs clothes i tell him that i washed everything in the hamper so he should have clothes. OH and dishes thats another story i have a rule EVERYONE uses disposable plates, spoons, cups everything ... if not then "if you use it you wash it"..... only on special occasion we use regualr plates like with visitors, anniversay, new meal ect...and his shoes uhhhh if they are not in the spot they are supposed to be i tell him once in not then i take the lace off... so the next day he'll take forever to put it back on .... well ill keep on checkin in on the question to see others peoples suggestions.... an eye opener is cleaning all your stuff and leaving his stuff the way they are when his friends/ family are going to come over... you'lll see how fast he cleans

tell him that it gets you hot LOL
tell him if we get this done in an hour we can take a shower together
tell him that housework is foreplay for women, if he does it he will be rewarded
my husband likes a very clean house, so we have a system. the more I do, the more I get rewarded! Oddly enough I have no problem being manipulated like that LOL

Start cleaning up half naked in some kinda sexy get up, and tell him, 'This could be more fun, and really rewarding if I had some help", as you're bent over dusting. If that doesn't work, call a medic, and a lawyer. LOL

Try: "I will ask for help only when I really need it." Husbands will respond positively to this. Mere live-ins masquerading as husbands won't.

Ask him to help, no whining, no accusations, just tell him you need him to help. Tell him what you need him to do, like put dirty clothes in the laundry room *instead* of on the bedroom floor. Ask him to take out the trash...etc..Be nice about it.

if you're to tired for sex by the end of the day b/c you've been so busy "cleaning up", that would make him help more.
