I got a master's in chemical engineering and work at a national lab to develop new systems and materials that are more environmentally friendly. From catalysis work that is enabling hydrogen production for fuel cells to biocomposite design for green automotive parts, it's all part of a day's work in the Environmental Technology Directorate. And almost all of our money comes from the DOE.

Use my charcoal barbeque every day (twice a day on spare the air days).

Drive to the end of the driveway to get the mail every day.

Throw my aluminum cans, paper, and plastic into the regular trash.
