Yep. Just go to a clinic or see your doctor and they will prescribe you antibiotics. You will only have to take them for a few days, and the UTI will start clearing up immediately. This is the only cure for it. If you don't take action, it will spread to your kidneys (happened to me) and it will hurt A LOT. So get antibiotics as soon as you can.

If you have a UTI you need antibiotics. In the meantime however, drink lots of water or cranberry juice (100% juice, not that cocktail stuff). This will help flush out your kidneys and help with some of the discomfort.

Call your doctor for an appointment as soon as you can so you can get some medication.

Hope this helps. :-)

I love these questions because even our dear premed major needs to remember Uristat. Uristat is your friend when you have a UTI. It turns your pee bright orange, but it will stop the pain. Keflex is a good antibiotic to treat it as well. I get these all the time along with kidney stones. Make sure you protect your underwear when you take the Uristat, It can stain. You can get it at any pharmacy. It's OTC. Get well soon.

Only your doctor can diagnose this and treat it, there is nothing OTC that can be used.

I know a lot of people use cranberry juice to clean the bladder, but the infection is still there and needs an antibiotic, which can only be prescribed by your doctor.

CRANBERRY & BUCHU CONCENTRATE (100)

Benefits:
•Nutritionally supports the health of the urinary tract.
•Helps deodorize urine.

Cranberry/Buchu Concentrate [Urinary]. Scientific studies have concluded that cranberry juice contains substances that affect the urinary tract by interfering with the adhesion of potentially dangerous microbes to the urinary tract lining.

NSP combines cranberry juice concentrate with buchu herb concentrate. Buchu helps nourish the urinary tract. Its powerful, penetrating aroma is akin to peppermint. Careful processing reduces the liquid to a concentrated powder before encapsulation.

NOTE: Do not take this concentrated formula in conjunction with uva ursi.

Adults: Take 1–2 capsules with a meal three times daily.
Children: Take 1 capsule with a meal twice daily. Use daily to help maintain a healthy urinary tract.

Drink lots of Cranberry juice as it helps to flush the infection out...if it doesn't work in a day or two, please see your doctor so they can give you an antibiotic. Feel Better!

I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see if it is UTI before trying anything over the counter.
