The bleeding that you had for 2 or 3 weeks is called breakthrough bleeding which can act a lot like a period. When this bleeding occurs it can be a symptom of a hormone imbalance.

When going off the pill it can cause the period to be delayed for some time as the body is trying to rid itself of the medication that it has been receiving.

Just let your doctor know that you would like to know if it's possible that this could be a hormone imbalance causing all this bleeding that you had.
