My mom told me a friend of hers is experiencing an electrical charge in the gas pedal of her Chevy Suburban. She says that it takes about 45 minutes before her foot feels normal after driving it. Any ideas?

There is obviously no clutch in an automatic. Of course not pressing down on the gas would save petrol. The reason that manual can be more fuel-efficent than an automatic is totally based on the driver and how the shift gears because the automatic will shift gears when it reaches a specific RPM will manually shifting can reduce the time therefore petrol consumption during each shift. Manual cars can waste a lot of petrol if you shift at the wrong time which can over-rev your engine burning it out while wasting a lot of money on petrol.

With just about any kind of shoes on, it would be nearly impossible for her to feel a shock, not to mention that there shouldn't be anything greater than 12 volts anywhere near that part of the car.

I agree with the earlier responder, it's almost certainly a nerve problem or perhaps a circulation problem - i.e. her foot is "going to sleep".

it could be heavy vibration or she could be getting a shock when she gets outof the car and puts her foot on the ground
but it is completely impossable to get an electric shock through the pedal, through her shoe - you ned 2 terinals or one terminal and earth to get a shock
the metal gas pedal will be ground
what else is she touching?

She needs to see a doctor, not a mechanic. As has been said, she could be pinching a nerve in her leg.
It is virtually impossible for anything on the vehicle to be causing this.

impossible, unless she has holes in her shoes or is driving barefoot she wouldnt ba able to get shocked .And even if she was by some remote chance really getting an electrical shock from the car, unlessit is from the coil it is only 12 volts, she wouldnt feel it

her foot is falling asleep cause of the vibrations coming up from the gas pedal and floor boards tell her to move her foot from side to side alittle when she drives

Not coming from the peddle, there are no wires to it. It is possible that when depressing, you are popping a joint and entrapping a nerve like when you hit the funny bone.
