my fingers cant hold down the strongs and get into the awkward positions for chords and stuff.

is this a common problem, and would practive eventually make it very easy for my fingers to hold down the strongs correctlyand get into the weird positions?

its like when i get one finger holding down one string right, then the other fingers mess up. then when i fix those the other one i had right is now rouching other strongs ahhhhhhhhh so annoying!

i got my guitar in jan and i still cant do anything with it.

i know what you mean no worry - and yes this very common. Practive will help a lot but some things cant be overcome such as finger size and length. Using an electric vs acoustic is easier on the hands. And a lot of people can play sloppily and get away with it anyways. You know there is more than one way to play everything on guitar. Get some lessons and they can help you too.

8 months is a long time to still have problems articulating your fingers and holding down the strings. Yes at first getting your hands into the appropriate position can seem impossible but with some practice and dedication it will get easier and more rewarding. Most people that i know gave up playing for that same reason, but once you push past the frustrating stage of guitar learning it is so rewarding after that.

It takes a while to build up your fingers to be strong enough to deal with the string pressure.

First build up your strength by working through your exercises but don't worry about how you sound.

You need to be strong enough to play before you can get the full benefit of your lessons.

Once you develop calluses your forearm strength is not far from being useful.

Everyone goes through that phase when trying to learn the
guitar. You just have to work at it slowly and dont get in a
hurry. It takes a lot of TIME to learn how to play the guitar and
do it right. I have been playing sence the early 50s and still
cant play everything I want to. Patience .
