I just called my wife my ex's name. i didnt realize i did it. What do i do?

If you were married for a while it is natural. I have been married and have called my husband by other name. Just laugh it off say your sorry. I've been married 41 years first husband died when i was 19 got married at 16. And still think of him it is easy to do it's like parents having 3 or more kids we get onto one and maycall all 3 names or so before we get right one. If she knows that you don't still have feelings for X she should forgive you but i'm sorry and an intimate dinner will work wonders.

If you realize it, then just be damn careful you don't do it again. Say your wife's name outloud a few times. That'll help.
I mean, unless you still harbor feelings for your ex or are sleeping with your ex, who cares... mistakes happen... I know I've done it... called a current BF an ex's name. Oopsie.
I have a close friend who'll be with me in the car and he'll call me by a mutual friend's name, or he'll be referring to her and call her my name... no big deal.
You should just elay her fears and say sorry if she noticed.
If she's mad, then do whatever it is you do to make her unmad... take her to dinner and buy her flowers... whatever.. if she throws a gigantic fit she's immature or extremely insecure.

I'd have to say that women, unfortunate as it may be, like being treated like crap. So, just dont bring it up, until she does, and if she does. Then just say that she did something that reminded u of something that ur ex did. That will make her jealous for sure, but it will make her want to top what ur ex did and keep you in control of the relationship. Once you start letting ur girlfriend / fiancee / wife take control, then she will take advantage, so I say...as the MAN, take control & keep it.

You should buy her a bracelet or some jewel like that (Very expensive of course) with HER NAME on it. it'll be sure that you never make the same mistake again. Obviously, you have to give her the present in an original way (Maybe hidden in a dessert you made by yourself for dinner) and bring her a "serenata" (You have to hire some musicians to play romanthic music for her at night), it works better if you get a "mariachi" and they play "Gema" or "Si nos dejan"...

Depending on how many years you spent with your ex, it really isn't your fault. It's just an innoccent slip of the tounge, and people do this all the time...make a joke of it...say, "Well, you were acting like such a *****, I thought I was talking to her..."

I don't think it's such a big deal, it would be awkward, but if you were with your ex for a long time, things slip out. Were you thinking about her, though? I dunno if that makes a difference... like if it was in the heat of passion and you haven't seen the ex for 6 yrs you'll be in trouble with the wife LOL but i dunno the situation, just talk it thru with your wife.. we all make mistakes.
