ehh no, not really...they did this because of the movie that Arquette did with pretty much the entire WCW roster. Was it the moment when WCW "jumped the shark"? I would have to say yes....

The beginning of the end was when the higher ups (not the writers, Bischoff, etc) The people that basically controlled the money started doing things that were detrimental to the business that is when the WCW basically collapsed.

No the decline of WcW came when the WWE started taking over the ratings with better storylines such as mcmahon vs austin, DX and the concept of the attitude era

Arquette. Who cares with regard to the Cruiserweight identify? no person. It became a shaggy dog tale and not in any respect meant something besides. yet Arquette won the WCW worldwide heavyweight identify. the right identify in the corporate, and in case you asked WCW in the corporate. to grant it to an actor, became a shaggy dog tale.

For me WCW was on the decline long before then. After Benoit, Guererro, Saturn and Malenko defected to WWE, I hardly watched WCW at all.

For me as well.I am sure it did not sit well in the locker room either.I think they were on a downward spin before this and this help sink it further faster.

They were already slowly declining at that point. That just put another nail in the coffin.
