Well, *something* is making it think there's an obstruction. See if there is a bent spot in the track or other reason the obstruction sensor is being tripped.

Or, the wires to the obstruction sensor are failing. A diagram and volt-ohmmeter will tell you for sure.

Calling the help line is your superb determination. #315 appears like a wierd type call. If the unit is a extra moderen type (the final 2 years) that's conceivable which you're actual gazing the distant's frequency (315mhz) and not the type. Chamberlain (offered by way of Sears) these days switched to this frequency to help alleviate problems with interference. additionally, extra moderen fashions won't have dip switches for programming the distant (as mentioned above) yet, somewhat, a "be taught" button that is placed on the back of the motor unit. To application a distant with this type of gadget you only press the be taught button on the motor and then press and carry the distant administration button for a pair seconds till you pay attention a faint click from the motor or see the small gentle next to the be taught button blink - this suggests the distant became efficiently coded. New remotes must be programmed into your opener so which you could have the right distant yet only no longer have it programmed in amazing. wish this helps.

Check the tracks. There is enough resistance somewhere to trip the reverse mode.
