Mmmm, could mean a lot of things :-))
I'm keeping my mouth shut because I'm afraid I'll get into trouble :-))
I don't want to talk about it.
I promised I wouldn't tell :-))
You already asked me fifty times, and I simply won't discuss it anymore....

Hi Moon,
Wow, don't you get a wonderful response to some of your questions? That's a great answer in itself. It means you've got everyone thinking and because of the personal nature of the question, they want to reply because they care about what you feel about the answer.
Mostly if anyone asks me a question face-to-face I will always give an answer as to reply (whether positive or negative) means there should be no misunderstandings.
If someone posts a question I don't have an answer for, I might just continue to those I can answer. Sometimes I can answer the questions but if other people have already given the answer I would give since it has been said, I don't respond.
Sometimes I don't see the question until it has been resolved.
Have a good weekend, Moon,
Polly

It might mean we didn't see the question, it might mean that we may not feel we have anything to add beyond what has already been posted, and it may just mean that we don't have a burning desire to answer the question. It has nothing to do with how we feel about the person asking the question, but nobody knows everything about everything. I know quite a few posters on tis board who abstain if the answer has already been given, simply because they don't want to waste anyone's time.
If it's an opinion question, the potential answerer may not have a particularly strong opinion, or may feel that their opinion would not necessarily be helpful in that situation.
I know that some of the answers I give require extensive research and step by step instructions. After a few of those I just walk away and do something mindless for awhile. It doesn't mean I don't care about another question or the person asking it. I just need a break.

No - in my case it merely means I haven't heard you. If I'm thinking about the answer I'll let you know that too. What amuses me is when I ask the First Mate if she would like a cup of tea and she answers something like "I'm going to read the paper". There's a lot of that about. I call it The Politician's Response. After all, I was a journalist.

No Moon, it just means I don't want to answer the question, or maybe I'm busy. I hope you have a great weekend too.
I hope you don't think I answer too many of your questions.

No not necessarily...
1. But sometimes I am just too busy to go on "ya" or even to sit in front of my PC all day... my PC may be down...
2. Sometimes it maid be because... I just don't know the answer to your question...
May God bless you!
I hope you have a nice weekend too :)
~ Peace ~

Hi Moon.
It's simply because I didn't hear you.
You may need to approach and tap my shoulder to break up my concentration on something. You need to wait till I have turned off the tap or have finished shower or turned off the shredder and you may ask again.
But don't wake me up, please. I'm against that :-), strongly. Since I'm up now, can you ask again, please?
Take care...
Have a great weekend..

You can't assume that. For example, if you said, "Does this dress make me look fat," and I answered with an awkward silence, you probably wouldn't take that as, "No, honey, you look great." On the other hand, if you asked, "Does anyone object to pizza tonight?" and no one answered you, you would have your answer of "no." It all depends on the question.

That could be taken that way or you could take it as the person doesn't know how to answer you or they didn't hear you either as they might have been in deep thought about something that's going on in their life.
