We are going to an AFL match in Brisbane and driving up from the Gold Coast. Where is a good place to park that is not too expensive but still within walking distance?
Thanks :0)

There is no real parking close to the Gabba, but you can park at Southbank Parklands (who might have specials for game days) and walk along Vulture Street. Parking is normally charged at a flat rate of $12.

Option two, as was mentioned in another answer, catch the bus. You can drive and park (for free) at either Garden City or Eight Mile Plains Busway bustops. From there, designated buses (free with you ticket) will take you as close the the Gabba as possible.

Option three, since you are coming from the Gold Coast you can catch a city/airport express train to Southbank (Vulture St) station and walk along Vulture St to the Gabba. The cost of this is also covered in your ticket.

Hope that helps :)

PS. Driving directions to 8 Mile Plains Busway, take the Pacific Motorway until just past Springwood, get on the Gateway Motorway and stay in the left lane, take the first exit (Mile Platting Road). After the exit go straight through the lights and you are in the carpark, additional spaces are provided on the other side of Miles Platting Road (you should see them when you get there.

Parking At The Gabba

We drive up for the Sydney/Brisbane match every year from northern NSW and always find a park in Wellington Road between Vulture St and Lytton St or in the streets off Wellington Rd to the right. Wellington Rd is one way so there is parking on both sides heading north. The parking in that area is free and unrestricted. Mind you, we always arrive at least two hours before the game and have a beer with some friends at the Pineapple Pub before the game. If you arrived close to game time, don't expect to find a park near the Gabba.

Gabba Parking

Hi There,

Firstly,I think you should head off to the Gabba early to get a good park. I would recommend to head straight for Trafalga Street (about 100m from the Gabba) which has 'no limit parking' on the street and/or where you can find car park tickets sold by charity for parks near businesses. The cost is usually about $10-$15.

The other thing you can do is pay for parking at the meters on Logan road (the top of Trafalga St) (about 150-200m from Gabba) 11 hours for $3 (on ususal days).

Or why not Train it in? Catch the air train from the Coast, hop off at "South Brisbane" and hop of a "Cleavland" train and get off at "Buranda" station and walk about 500 m.

Cheers,

My husband worked in the CBD until recently and he rented a parking space in an apartment building where the owner/tenant didn't need their parking space. He found it on the internet and there were quite a few to choose from. it was much cheaper than parking stations and had 24 hour access. Search on cbd parking brisbane

Just park on the side of the road in Lisburn St, which runs between Vulture & Stanley St's. Not in the bus stops though ;-)

Or in the Aussie Nash pub carpark maybe??
