How close are you guys? Close enough were you feel the same from him? If not I would acess the issue and see if you will damage the friendship by being honest, if not tell him. If it helps, tell him in a text or a e-mail so you won't be so nervous, the truth is the only thing that can help. Otherwise if it is not going to happen and you truly 100% know that, then let the feelings go or don't dwell on them, otherwise I SAY GO FOR IT!!!

Go ahead to tell him. If the result is not what you want, at least you know the truth. For friendship, you can stop seeing him for a while after the bad news and I am sure both of you will become friend again later on if he is really your best friend.
I know it is very difficult decision for you, but I would say "Do not be afraid of losing, find out the truth. Truth can help you move on eventually instead of wasting your time guessing and suffering.

Hello I've been their before. If u really love him just talk to him ask him certain questions that u might think will let you know if he likes you or not. Or if you feel comfortable with asking him private questions then just come out and ask him "Hey have you ever fallen for me". I if he says yes then that's your answer. Ask him if you guys can start a relationship and stay close too him and get too know him more better in a intimate way.

I agree with Erica ~ just in the summer? There's something not right about that. Could you just be infatuated?
Does it seem he has the same feelings?
I did fall in love with my best friend, and we've been married for 9 years ~

Yes...that always seems to happen when someone is a close friend...you want them as a close friend in the first place because you think they're so awesome....things get confusing...personally, I find it hard NOT to fall for a close friend...it's either all or nothing, ya know?

Why is it just in the summer? Is there a particular reason? You might want to figure that out first before you dive headfirst into anything. If he's only appealing during the summer... you may want to rethink it. :)

Don't hold back!! the worst thing to do is limit yourself from falling lost in love... who knows,,, he might just be the "one". When ever you feel something that is harmful.. go for it.. you don't want to say a few years later "i shouldved"
