As a non-American, I find it hard to believe. The man has the 'gift' of not being able to put a simple sentence together.
This leads me to one of two conclusions:
1. Harvard is way over-rated.
2. Drugs and alcohol have fried Bush's brain.
Which is the correct one?

Number 2 is the correct answer. And the only way Bush got into Harvard is because his father went and that created a "legacy" which let's a Harvard alumnus's children go there is they want. And yes, finding out that Bush went to Harvard is like finding out that your doctor is sick, or like finding out that Hitler was Jewish and gay.

His father went to Harvard...and so he got an easier ticket in than most...

Add to that fact that Bush's mother is from a very wealthy family, and his father is from a political family ( Bush's grandfather was a senator) ...and Bush Sr. at the time, I believe was head of the CIA...so, I am sure some strings were pulled to get this marginal student into school.

I remain that if Bush's Mother wasn't wealthy, and his father was not from a political family...Bush would be working at McDonalds now...not leader of the U.S.

It is unfortunate, but, in the U.S., wealth, position has a lot to do with privilege....and can help some rather mediocore people acheive quite high positions...eventhough, they are not qualified.

However, people from modest means can also rise...Bill Clinton is from a poor family in Arkansas...but, he worked his way up....studied hard, became a Rhodes scholar...and at least by this merit...deserved the position he received.

Bush got into Harvard after his father was elected to the House, had the ear of the U.S. President Richard Nixon, was appointed the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., and was appointed chairman of the Republican National Convention.

Junior got into Harvard Business School because his father was a very, very important man, even in 1973.

Bush comes from one of the wealthiest families in the country. He is proof that money will get you into any school you want, regardless of your academic performance.

There is a third conclusion which you may not have considered. George HW (W's father) and Prescott Bush (W's grandpa) both went to Harvard, not that they were that smart (though neither came close to matching W's extreme retardation.... of course Prescott was a Nazi sympathizer). I believe that Prescott's father was also a Harvard man also, but I'm not positive.

Harvard tends to admit the children of their alumni who are millionaires. Sure this sucks and isn't fair, but it's the only way they get new libraries built.

He got what we call the rich part of Affirmative action that they hate to talk about or admit.

Bush graduated from Yale with a C- average, not good enough to get him into any graduate school I know of if he wasn't the son of a Vice President. Harvard would NEVER admit a regular person (those that are not rich) to their Graduate School of Business with Bush's credentials, which were disgraceful! You can't even graduate from nursing school with those grades!

Only in America!!

Just another perk for the rich!
