Of course, it's not weird. They're human beings, and have as much right to be out in public as I do. You say "hello", maybe talk for a moment, and move on. It's no big deal.

I'm not in school anymore. I've never seen any of my teachers outside of school but I have seen a teacher from my school about 5 times though. It was weird because it seemed like everywhere I went there she was.

I'm a teacher and I don't like seeing my students outside of school. Some of them are fine, but most don't see me as a person, so it's really annoying to see them outside.

Seeing teachers in public creep me out. I saw one of my teachers in a grocery store on the weekend and another in a convenience store during summer vacation while i was in my pajamas!! Ahh. It's so weird. ESPECIALLY if they notice me and say hi. fhdkfjagh

Omg! I hate that! My school has a strict dress code, ( like skirts and dresses only for girls ), and I wear pants and stuff when I'm not at school. I've ran into my teachers a few times. I try to avoid them as much as possible though.

I have seen some teachers around even though I am no longer in school.

It is sooo weird!

It's like seeing a lion in Antartica. It just doesn't fit somehow.

But teachers are people too and they have to eat and shop and drive and so forth like the rest of us . . .

As a teacher I have had some students run up to me and say hi and other run away with kids acting a various ways in-between. When I see them and they come up to me I talk to them and when they run away I let them go.

Good Luck!!!

well for me i don't think it is weird.

i'm 22 still attending classes and when i see my teacher if it is someone i like i will go to him /her and say hi, may i be introduced just to give trouble.

if i do not like him/her i will pass like i don't even see them with my head turned the other way.

if i'm a teacher and saw my student i would intervene to find out who the other person is just to be caring and sincere to my student/s

I don't think it's wierd at all. Teachers are entitled to life outside of the classroom. I think your reaction stems from seeing your teacher in an unfamiliar setting.

Way back when I was in school it was very freaky to see one of my teachers in public. Once I reached college, though, it didn't have the same effect.
