Because some people don't like to read the truth about themselves and are overly sensitive, if not stupid.

Most questions are valid ones and honest. I appreciate them and try to understand where the asker may be coming from...depending on the level of intelligence and how well thought out it is. Same thing goes for homosexuality...can't say anything about it, even if it is an honest observation.

From truth comes understanding...

I love your question! Good for you, to dare to bring it up.

Racism is a terrible thing indeed, don't get me wrong.
It should be stopped. I have to put up with racism on an almost daily basis, (for example children shouting TOUBAB TOUBAB (The local word for a white person, something like the N word for black people) at me, but I don't let it get to me.)

One thing that actually contributes to racism is the playing of the racism card. THAT should be stopped too.

Sometimes I see some people play the racism card in the hope of getting away with things they KNOW that they are doing wrong. Here is an actual example. A policeman stopped a driver from trying to double park on a busy road. the driver looked at him and called him a racist. It was a very serious allegation which had to be looked into, and could have lost the policeman his job, but luckily there were witnesses. The driver was cautioned by the judge. This happened in February 2007.
It is not relevant here to say which races the people involved here are, only that the racism card was played. I can assure you that the policeman may not have been racist before this happened, but since then... he did nothing wrong, just doing his job, and to have this happen...

Playing the race card is bad. it can contribute to worsening racism. So the people who shout RACISM without looking into the issues, or to avoid being put in the wrong, hoping to divert the situation... I ask you, who's being racist here?

I think all people are capable of being racist... lol. I dont reserve that title for whites alone.

I think people dont truly understand the difference between racism, prejudice, bias, and ignorance. Some people post these questoins to be a racist jerk, some post them thinking that most truly are one way or another, which isnt true... but if they've only known 20 blacks in their life, and they all were this or that way, then ALL blacks begin to represent the same in their preception.

If I said, why do most whites get on here and ask dumb a** questions, that would offend people who DONT. Which, contrary to what we see, is true.

A lot of people who are a certain race are in fact most likely mixed with some other race. For example, the white race??? No such thing its been combined with so many others that in my opinion there is no 100% pure of any race, therefore, when we spew racial slurs and hatred, we may in fact be talking about our own anxestors. SOmething to think about.......

College level Social Psychology courses explain that most stereotypes are based in some truth. People like Al Sharpton, however, make it taboo to speak about race - at least some races - Jew-bashing is ok. I remember some scientist (forget the name) made a perfectly legit observation that African Americans are superior physically because they were bred for strength during slavery. The guy was annihilated.

I think to an certain extant it's okay to discuss racial topics as long as they are not offensive to anyone. But when I'm called a money time and time again, called a n^gger, called ghetto and compared to sh^t on the bottom of someones shoe like I read yesterday, that's just pure hatred and ugly. No one wants to read that.

I agree 100% the word racist is used way too often. I also think just because someone does not like one person that does not mean they dislike the whole race.

Because this isn't a discussion group--you can state a question and others can answer but that's as far as things can go. No chance to rebuttal, no chance to clarify, no chance to defend your position, etc. as you'd be able to do in a true forum. All we see is your one-sided question. Keep that in mind when you post.

Because people love to pull the race card. It is a popular way to escape facing the real issue. Quite pathetic indeed.
