Yes there was, after the 1938 election and 1939 inauguration. It is in the 2nd New Deal that the Social Security Act was passed. yeah. i guess you could call it a second (wave) of new deals. with FDR in the presidency for so long, it's kinda' hard to separate the first plan (a) from the second plan (b). discovery & recovery from the depression was a slow and arduous journey for most americans. FDR and his thinkers came up with so many programs, he reasoned that one or more had to do the trick but know what? while some worked some of the times and others worked other times, what really lifted america out of the depression blues was world war 2. hate to say it but nothing like a war to make, have & generate $$$.

during the first.. there was a 100 day period when laws were being passed. the second came a couple years later and focused on reform of the policies to prevent another depression from happening again. (in the first he focused on relief and recovery) (the 3 r's in other words)

most important law passed under 2nd new deal- social security act... provided money to lower class people and elderly.

i took AP history so i think this should be right.
