Those are marriages that are extremely in the minority, perhaps less than one-tenth of one percent. It is enough to be statistically insignificant.
The reason why someone in India or Pakistan or Bangladesh, or wherever would be involved in one of these marriages could be given as, love, rebellion, circumstances (such as jobs or schooling) etc. As in the case of all such marriages, there are many problems to be over-come, chief among them is, which culture and religion is going to be that of the home and children?

Muslim women can only marry Muslim men. The only religion that Islam accepts is Jewish and Christianity so Muslim men will only marry Muslims Jews or Christians.

Love and willingness to take a lot of criticism from family members. My parents are hindu and catholic from South India and their families gave them a lot of grief about that.
