People think he is a mix because he is so young right now. Pit bulls don't get completely filled out and muscular until they are between 1-1/2 to 2 years old. And your pup is really young, so he has LOTS of growing to do. Good Luck with your beautiful pup!!

This is my pit bull when she was 11 months old. Their faces have very similar markings...that MAY be why I think your pup is so cute :)

pitbull isn't an certainly breed. it somewhat is barely a recognition used to describe "bully" breed type dogs. they many times team APBT, am staffs, staffordshire bulls all at the same time under a accepted call of pitbull. With that being suggested, there is not any real breed accepted, as they have been bred for a purpose, no longer for a seem. distinctive bloodlines have distinctive seems. So, it somewhat is impossible to truly say a "pitbull" is purebred till it somewhat is registered.

If he is mixed, he favors the pit side. He could be mixed with boxer but it's hard to tell for sure. It's really hard to tell when they are this young. A straight-on head shot would help too.

Additional comments based on new photos:

His muzzle looks a little long. I'm guessing he's mixed. Maybe lab.

Does it matter???? By the way, your choke collar is WAY too big and should NOT be left on the dog when not in use. Puppies and dogs strangle ot death all the time because people leave these training collars on the dog 24/7.

He's soo cute! He is definitely a mix..probably with a big dog like a pointer or some kind of hunting dog.

Looks like he may have some hound or pointer in him...gorgeous pup!

EDIT: Hmmm....might be a bit too soon to tell. Let him grow a bit and it may be easier to determine. Looking at the pic of him yawning....with all that mouth....he definately favors the pit side

I do think he's a mix, because pits have broader heads and much smaller ears. I can't tell you WHAT the mix is, though.

while the pit gene is definately dominant, the head seems a little long. however depending on the age he may grow into it.
