Yeah right. You buy land in the US, UK or wherever and think you can then make it your own Country?! What rules let you buy it? Did you rape, pillage and plunder to get it, or use money? If you used money you followed rules. Rules set down by the Country you live in!

In UK all land technically belongs to the Sovereign and the freeholder actually has a perpetual lease. To all intents and purposes this is not onerous, in fact you do not notice it. However it does mean that you can buy up the whole Country and still only hold the land on a perpetual lease. So no you can not form your own country.

It depends where. Not if it is was a plot of land in the UK.

Technically we are all subjects to the Crown, and all of Britain is Her Majesty's territories. If someone was to declare it a country, it would be cool but if they were serious about it then I believe the UK Government would have to act.

Not unless you buy yourself a private island and declare yourself a separate nation. And even then, the country that sells you the island may prevent you from doing that.

Would you call yourself "President", "King", "Emporer", or "Supreme Dictator for Life"?

Dude!!! Where's my car?!!!!

You need to take a break from the bong, bubba. You can buy land but if it is in any country, it is not your country. Besides, you have to pay property taxes.

You can call it your own country until you don't pay taxes on it. We'll see how long your country lasts when the feds bring in the guns....

You would have to buy a deserted Island then you could declare it has yours to call what ever you want.

you possibly can although I think it would be cheaper to invade and over power a small island, set up your stronghold and take up residence
