what do you mean, the book? the movie?
never read the book...
the movie kicks (DONKEY)...
the author (Alistair Maclean) was a GREAT suspense writer... wrote some really good books...
i'd recommend (to read):
The Last Frontier
Fear is the Key
The Guns of Navarone
Force 10 from Navarone
The Satan Bug
Ice Station Zebra
The Golden Gate
apparently a lot of his books were made into movies, so there might be other stuff of his you can check out... ironically, i think he wrote where eagles dare as a MOVIE first then wrote the book....

Yeah mate,snow in the film was in adbundance,i do believe it was won of richard burtons last,and clint eastwood in prime of life,the views from the gondolas was great too,like wicked for bungee's,also believe it recieved two or three oscar's.

Great film!Its a full on action,ww2 film with great actors and great settings.Perfect bank holiday or xmas viewing!

A film you can watch from a child to an adult and still love it.
