It's funny, I've thought about the posibilities of that. I remember long before the Matrix come out (I only say because I was talking to my wife about this once and she made fun of me because of it) I had it explained to me about the brain being responsible for all of your senses being translated and I started to think about the posibilty that we could all fesably be all brains interacting, or not interacting at all, in ways not necessarily conceivable within the system that we "know." I realize that it's all just mental masturbation, and there isn't really any practical point to going too far down that train of thought, but I've thought a lot about it. Kind of like how those certain dreams can seem so real and how I've been fooled, as I'm sure everyone else has at some point, into believing it's real.

No, but it can be if you identify with your little 'learned' ego and its beliefs and misperceptions. You'll perceive a hologram according to your illusions about self and others.

Waking up is tantamount to 'rebooting' the authentic Self and experiencing 'the Real.' Difficult, but worth the effort. Because reality mirrors what you believe to be true, "eternal aliveness" is at the end of the path.

Yeah, and once the person dreaming all of this wakes up. Life is over as we know it. Nothing is known.

if life is a dream, then it is still the product of my mind and therefore controlled by me to some extent. if i think or am at all sentient, i exist, somewhere, even if i am being controlled by some more powerful being (a logical possibility).

however after looking at the options i think the most probable is that a super-natural being made me and controls my environment with the goal of making himself glorified, and showing himself to me and all mankind.

Dreams aren't this consistant and continuous.

However, do I think there is an alternate or greater reality. Absolutly!
