If all you want is lists of houses - RealtyTrac and a variety of other "List Sellers" can help you. If, on the other hand, you'd actually like to BUY a house, you will need a Realtor licensed in your state and registered with HUD to sell the foreclosures. Go ahead and get a Realtor already. You also need to get approved for your loan (or at least pre-approved) before you can even submit a bid - it also helps so you know what $ you'll need, by when you'll need them, and how much you qualify for (so also, how expensive you should be looking).

Lastly, DO NOT go with the listing agent for the HUD houses - their contract with HUD does not allow them to represent the buyer.

or i use RealtyTrac.com they email me twice a day on the foreclosures i am interested in --in my areas

it's free to sign up...at the end when it asks if you want a realtor to call ---say no.
